In 2025, I was tasked with coming up with a new visual direction for the NFL Academy’s social channels. Although this ultimately didn’t go ahead, I really enjoyed the look and feel of the project and the simplistic visual design system I implemented across the templates I created. Since the Academy prospect’s immediate goal is to earn college scholarships in the U.S., I was inspired by the creative freedom seen across those channels, and how they contrast to NFL’s clean and corporate look. Knowing what the players would prefer to post on their feeds, I went with a dark, gritty and urban tone to match, choosing to keep colours limited to emphasise the Academy’s beautiful aqua blue. The black and white image treatment gives full focus to the expressions and features of the players, levelling the playing field and symbolising unity while still highlighting their individuality.
